Mutfwang Visits Attack-Hit Community, Vows Plateau Land Won’t Be Ceded To Terrorists

Governor Caleb Mutfwang on Monday visited Nbra Zongo community in Bassa Local Government Area alongside the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Bernard Doro, following Friday night’s deadly attack that claimed at least 11 lives and left more than 10 others critically injured.

Addressing grieving residents, Governor Mutfwang assured the community that no part of Plateau land would be surrendered to terrorists, stressing that the government remains committed to restoring peace and security across affected communities.

He commended residents for not taking the law into their own hands despite the provocation and sympathised with families who lost loved ones in the attack.

The governor further assured that security presence in vulnerable communities would be strengthened and encouraged farmers to prepare for the farming season, noting that the government is working to create a safer environment for agricultural activities.

Minister Bernard Doro, who hails from Irigwe land, also commiserated with the victims and pledged the Federal Government’s support.

He said the Federal Government would intensify efforts to ensure the protection of lives and property, adding that his ministry would provide relief materials and other forms of assistance to affected families.
