Married men on snapchat likely cheating — Solomon Buchi

Nigerian relationship commentator Solomon Buchi has stirred debate on social media after questioning why married men remain active on Snapchat.

In a post shared on Sunday, Buchi said he finds it difficult to understand the reason married men use the platform regularly, insisting that such behaviour often raises suspicions of infidelity.

“I can never understand why a married man is on Snapchat. What are you doing there? Whenever I see a married man who uses Snapchat regularly, I believe you’re cheating,” he said.

The commentator further argued that Snapchat has become associated with secret conversations and the exchange of explicit content, a trend he said fuels mistrust in relationships.

“One of the top activities that happens on that app is sending and receiving of nudes. How can you be active on Snapchat as a married person?” he added.

His comments triggered mixed reactions online, with some users backing his position on trust and secrecy in marriages, while others argued that merely using a social media platform does not amount to cheating.

The controversy also revived conversations around digital boundaries in modern relationships, particularly concerns over disappearing messages and private chats linked to Snapchat.

Similar arguments about the app and relationship trust had surfaced in 2023 after viral online discussions connected Snapchat with secret affairs and digital infidelity among couples in Nigeria.

Despite criticising the platform’s growing perception, Buchi maintained that not every Snapchat user engages in immoral behaviour, stressing that the issue largely centres on trust and public perception in relationships.
