The federal government has introduced “fly now, pay later,” a consumer credit solution aimed at improving access to domestic air travel for Nigerians.

the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CrediCorp),in a post on X said the initiative allows eligible customers to book local flights and repay the cost over time through structured financing.

The corporation added that the initiative reduces the burden of upfront payment that often delays trips.

“This solution is delivered in partnership with @MyVisaro and Alert Microfinance Bank,” CrediCorp said.

“At CREDICORP, we remain committed to expanding responsible consumer credit and enabling Nigerians Live Better Now, including flying locally.

“To apply, eligible individuals are to visit visaro.ng and book a flight to any city in Nigeria today.”

Findings from the app show that eligible individuals are required to pay a 30 percent initial deposit, while the remaining balance is spread across three monthly instalments.

The initiative comes at a time when domestic airfares have surged significantly, putting pressure on many travellers.

CrediCorp has launched several credit initiatives in recent months aimed at improving financial inclusion across different sectors.

The programmes target various demographics, including youth, retirees, and prospective vehicle owners.

In December 2024, CrediCorp partnered with NADDC to launch a N20 billion consumer credit fund to enable Nigerians to purchase locally assembled vehicles.

The YouthCred programme, another initiative by CrediCorp, offers gainfully employed Nigerian youths aged 18 to 39 access to up to N5 million in credit.

In September 2025, the corporation introduced a pension-backed loan programme for retirees in partnership with Leadway Trustees and Optimus Bank.
