Dunsin Oyekan, the Nigerian gospel singer, has decried the unauthorised upload of his song on digital platforms.
In a recent post via X, the gospel singer claimed that ‘Code of Worship’, a song originally released on his 2022 album, had been re-uploaded by an unknown individual across digital platforms without his permission.
He described the act as “criminal and illegal” while calling on his followers to report and help take it down wherever they come across it.
“My X folks, I need you to help report and bring down a criminal and illegal upload on all digital platforms,” the post reads.
“Someone released ‘Code Of Worship’ again. I released it on ‘The Glory Experience’ album in 2022.
“Please wherever you find it, Report immediately. Thanks.”
Unauthorised uploads have become a growing concern in the entertainment industry, particularly in the film space in recent days.
In March, Omoni Oboli accused Ghanaian TV stations of airing her films without permission. In April, Bimbo Ademoye made similar claims, while Juliet Ibrahim supported them.
Oyekan started singing and playing the guitar at the age of 10 and has since released over thirty songs.
He once served as the music director of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) choir.
