A Nigerian woman identified as Evelyn Isaac has taken to social media to call out Isaac Mefo, her husband, over alleged domestic violence.

In a recent Facebook post, Evelyn claimed that she had been a victim of her husband’s physical abuse, with the latest incident occurring last weekend.

“God will punish you Isaac Mefo for beating me this afternoon Have tolerated enough,” she wrote.

The couple, who have been married for seven years, had previously marked their anniversary on Facebook.

In the post published in December, Evelyn called on her followers to wish her home “more love and sweetness”.

“Congratulations and happy wedding anniversary to me and mine. Wishing us more love and sweetness in our home. Happy 7 years wedding anniversary to us my darling husband. It’s can only be God,” she wrote.

However, Evelyn’s recent post on alleged domestic violence has sparked reactions on social media.

While some users commended her for speaking out, others questioned the authenticity of her post.

“Someone is speaking out and you guys are making fun of it? Tell me why plenty of vulnerable girls won’t stay in abusive relationships,” a user Abasiono Sunday Monday wrote.

Bobby Bassey added: “How is God punish you a prank in a relationship? Have she prank you guys this way before? She even put I have tolerated you enough yet you guys are saying she should delete it. Inshort God punish you that’s saying she should delete it.”

“Is this a joke? Hope your safe sis?? Somebody help please!!,” another user Chortney Uche commented.

On his part, Mfon Michael wrote: “I was expecting to see what’s is wrong, is everything okay ? But then all I’m seeing is it’s a prank, take down the post and it’s a cruise. People should check up on her at least and know she’s safe.”

Husband’s reaction

Mefo, however, took to his Facebook page to deny allegations of domestic abuse levelled against him by Evelyn.

He claimed he was the victim of a cult-related attack orchestrated by Evelyn.

“Tomorrow, I will speak out, the cult guys didn’t kill me as planned. Just relax,” he wrote.

“Hey, don’t be so quick to judge! You never know what’s really going on behind the scenes. Let’s give each other the benefit of the doubt and hear the whole story before making up our minds. #DontJudge #HearMeOut.

“Funny enough, I didn’t beat her.”
