Ojani Noa, the ex-husband of Jennifer Lopez, has responded to the singer’s recent comments that her former partners “weren’t capable of loving me”.
The dispute began when Lopez reflected on her romantic history, suggesting that her former partners failed not because of her, but because they “lacked the capacity to truly love” her.
Reacting via a series of posts on Instagram, Noa, who was her first husband, dismissed Lopez’s statement as playing the “victim card”.
He accused her of being the one who “lied and cheated” during their brief marriage in the late 1990s.
Noa also detailed how he had sacrificed his own life — leaving his job, family, and friends — to support her burgeoning career, insisting he was a faithful and devoted partner.
He claimed that Lopez ultimately “chose fame and fortune” over their relationship.
“Stop putting us down. Stop putting me down with your victim card. The problem is not us, not me. The problem is you. You’re the one who couldn’t keep it in your pants. You’ve been “loved” a few times,” he wrote.
“You’ve been married four times and had countless relationships in between. You’ve even had good relationships — mine, for example.
“I was in love with you. I even moved out of state, leaving my job, my family, and my friends behind to support you, to love you, to protect and care for you. I’m an amazing, loving person, a great human being.
“Honest, faithful, and loyal. I never lied, misbehaved, or cheated on you. I was too good for you. I’m too good of a man for you.
“But you, you chose fame and fortune over our relationship. You decided to lie, to cheat on me. And even then, I stayed. I tried to keep the marriage alive.”
According to Noa, her dedication to her public image was so intense that she “begged” him to stay in the troubled marriage to avoid bad press, rather than to genuinely fix their issues.
“You even begged me to stay because you didn’t want bad press, you cared more about your career than about saving our marriage. And still, I stayed,” he added.
“But you kept choosing the fast lane of fame over honesty. You continued lying and cheating.
“I couldn’t stay anymore or deal with the constant lies. That’s why I left you. That’s why I divorced you.”
