Faith Adewale, the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) season 10 contestant, was disqualified from the show — barely three days before the finale.

The decision, announced on Thursday, followed a physical altercation with fellow contestant Sultana that resulted in injuries, which the show’s organisers described as a “clear breach of the house rules”.

Faith, a medical doctor, was subsequently removed from the house immediately. His abrupt exit has sparked intense and mixed reactions among the show’s fans.

Many viewers applauded Big Brother for enforcing the rules, with some users on social media labelling Faith a “bitter person” who deserved the punishment.

“Faith is bitter they shouldn’t have allowed him to got that far now I see the reason of his disqualification he deserves it and I hope they revoke all his winnings,” a user identified as Ejismarine wrote.

However, a significant number of BBNaija fans criticised the move as unfair, arguing that both housemates were involved in the incident and that the punishment was too severe.

Another user, Vampz argued that “This is a game , if someone choose toxicity as their strategy, let them play the game. Faith’s disqualification is bias. Did faith go too far? Yes.

“It should be 3 strikes before Disqualification but big brother skipped his own terms and condition. Not fair.”

The incident also reignited previous debates, with many fans drawing comparisons to an earlier clash between housemates Zita and Rooboy and questioning why the disciplinary outcome was different.

A major point of contention centred on Faith’s extensive winnings during the season.

Prior to his disqualification, he had been one of the most successful housemates, securing over 15 task victories and earning prizes from major brands like Morning Fresh, Aquafina, and Guinness.

His biggest win was the Innoson challenge, for which he was awarded a brand-new car.

Many BBNaija fans wondered if disqualification meant he would forfeit these prizes, a prospect that saddened even some of his critics.

A user identified as Dannyblizz wrote: “Faith’s disqualification really saddens me and it’s even doing the final week. So basically all the winnings and the cars were just in vain.”

Another user Zeesar said “I used to like Faith but not anymore but Big Brother disqualifying him now is unfair. So unfair, you didn’t call him to order for weeks and now straight disqualification losing all his winnings? Haba!”

However, in a clarification to TheCable Lifestyle, the show’s organisers put the speculation to rest, confirming that Faith’s disqualification does not affect his winnings.

“He will still receive all his prizes despite the disqualification,” MultiChoice Nigeria stated.

The BBNaija season 10 edition kicked off on July 26 with a two-day opening ceremony and 29 contestants.

After Faith’s disqualification and numerous evictions, only nine housemates remain to compete for the historic grand prize of N150 million—the highest in the show’s history since its 2006 debut.

The season is set to conclude on October 5.
