“Her result is completely fake. Her claim that she printed the result from our site is a lie, and totally incorrect. If we should reveal all that we know, people will be shocked.”
On Tuesday, the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Prof. Ishaq Oleyede, hinted that Nigerians would be surprised if the board discloses the specifics of the “forgery” committed by Mmesoma Ejikeme, an Anambra State candidate accused of manually increasing her UTME score.
According to Oloyede, the result presented by Ejikeme was a replica of a student who took the UTME exam two years ago.
During an interview with premium times, Oleyede stated that the candidate was displaying a false result. He explained that if the code was scanned, the candidate’s score would appear, leading him to believe that the girl was either being deceived or was involved in a group that produced fake JAMB scores.
Oleyede stressed that the girl was attempting to mislead the public, and her result was a counterfeit. He further stated that if the board were to disclose all the information they have, people would be dismayed.
JAMB clarified that the issue had nothing to do with its system, stating that no one hacked into its system, and that the candidate’s result did not originate from its system.
The candidate claimed that she scored 362 but JAMB refused, noting that she scored 249.
“The result she is holding is completely fake because we are able to track everything printed from our system”, JAMB stated.
Ejikeme has since refuted the accusations made against her by JAMB, but despite her denial, JAMB maintained that she forged the result, and proceeded to place her on a three-year ban.
