The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has criticised the Tinubu administration over the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) airstrikes in Sokoto State on Christmas Day.

“President Bola Tinubu has outsourced his most important constitutional responsibility, effectively taking a back seat in a vehicle that he is constitutionally assigned to drive,” spokesperson for the ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi wrote Friday on X.

The ADC explicitly attributed the reliance on foreign action to administrative failings.

The party called for transparency, urging the government to “inform Nigerians of the outcomes of the strike, including the number of terrorists reportedly killed.”
