A pro-President Bola Tinubu group, South East Renewed Hope Agenda (SERHA), has distributed food items to vulnerable families in Anambra State as part of its Christmas outreach.
The group said the intervention was aimed at easing hardship and reinforcing community welfare during the festive season amid prevailing economic challenges.
Speaking at the event, the National Coordinator of SERHA, Ambassador Belusochukwu Enwere, said the exercise was designed to ensure the joy of Christmas reached households across communities.
He described Christmas as a season of hope, sacrifice and love, adding that the outreach was a modest effort to translate those values into practical support.
“While food items may not solve all our problems, they symbolise care, empathy and responsive leadership,” Enwere said.
He described Anambra as a state known for resilience, enterprise and strong communal bonds, noting that SERHA was proud to contribute to the culture of unity and compassion.
Enwere thanked residents for their continued support for Tinubu, saying the outreach aligned with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises welfare, inclusion and sustainable development.
Beyond the festive gesture, he highlighted key federal initiatives impacting the South East, particularly in education, infrastructure and regional development.
On education, Enwere said the Federal Government had disbursed N45.6bn to students from the South East under the national student loan scheme.
He also cited the recommencement of work on the Eastern Rail Line, expected to link Aba, Onitsha, Enugu and Nsukka to the national rail network, boosting trade and mobility.
Enwere further highlighted the establishment of the South East Development Commission, backed by a N150bn South-East Investment Company, to accelerate industrialisation and infrastructure.
“These initiatives show a clear commitment to inclusive development and integrating the South East into the national economy,” he said.
He assured residents that SERHA would continue to engage communities through tangible actions, urging Nigerians to renew hope and strengthen communal bonds as they celebrate Christmas.
