Richard Mofe-Damijo, the ace Nollywood actor better known as RMD, has taken to social media to celebrate his 25th wedding anniversary with Jumobi, his wife.
Marking the occasion on Monday, the 64-year-old style icon took to his Instagram platform to share an intimate glimpse into their enduring partnership.
The actor posted a series of affectionate photographs, capturing moments of shared laughter and quiet companionship that painted a vivid picture of their journey together.
Accompanying the images was a reflective and grateful message from RMD, acknowledging the significance of their silver anniversary. He stated that spending twenty-five years united in marriage is “no small feat”.
In his characteristic blend of grace and candor, he credited the unwavering sustenance of their union to a higher power, writing that it has been “by God’s involvement”.
“25 years na your mate? Even if na beans to cook am nor easy o. Oghene is involving not where else for dey? To expanded horizons,” he wrote in Pidgin English.
RMD married Jumobi, a former television presenter, in 2000, four years after the death of May Ellen Ezekiel, his first wife.
The former commissioner for culture and tourism in Delta state has four children; two from his previous marriage and the other two from his current union.
The Delta-born actor is considered one of the frontrunners in the Nigerian movie industry with a career spanning over three decades.
He has also earned a plethora of nominations and awards for his craft.
He won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in 2005 and received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 12th Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2016.
