The Lagos police command says it has commenced investigation into the alleged abduction of Peller, the TikTok celebrity.
On Wednesday night, a viral video surfaced claiming that the TikToker was taken away by armed men while live streaming on his way home from a restaurant.
But speaking with Channels TV, Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson of the Lagos police command, confirmed that “Peller is safe and unharmed,” adding that his vehicle and belongings are also “intact with no signs of violence”.
He said the police are investigating to verify the abduction claim, and the outcome will determine their next line of action.
“We are investigating the allegation, but we can confirm that the person in question, Habeeb, popularly known as Peller, is at home safe and sound,” he said.
“His vehicle is also intact, all his phones and properties, nothing was missing. But we are investigating to check the veracity of that claim, and the outcome of that investigation will determine our next line of action.”
“That is what we are investigating. All of his properties were intact, and he, too, was intact; there was no violence whatsoever.”
