Socialite Cubana Chief Priest has reportedly filed a lawsuit against Hellen Mutimu, the Kenyan woman accusing him of fathering her child.
The controversy between Cubana and Mutimu first gained attention in January after the Kenyan woman alleged that she had a brief romantic encounter with the socialite in Lagos in April 2022, a meeting she claimed led to a pregnancy.
Mutimu said she made several attempts to reach Cubana after giving birth, but he blocked all channels of communication. Her repeated calls for a paternity test to back her claims have been met with silence.
Cubana also denied fathering the child, describing Mutimu’s allegations as “baseless”.
In a recent post via Facebook, DPA Family Clinic, the family lawyer, shared a court document showing Cubana as the applicant and Mutimu as the defendant, claiming the suit was filed in Kenya.
The document also shows that Cubana is seeking a restraining order to stop Mutimu from sharing “defamatory content” about him on social media while the case is ongoing.
“Pending the hearing and determination of this application, this Honourable Court be pleased to issue an interim order of injunction restraining the Defendant/Respondent by herself, her agents, servants or assigns from publishing, uploading, sharing, or disseminating in any form or manner, defamatory content against the Plaintiff/Applicant on any social media platform or public forum,” the document reads in part.
Reacting to the lawsuit via an Instagram live session, Mutimu declared that she will continue to call out Cubana until he comes to Kenya to take the paternity test.
She also accused him of causing her “emotional trauma and homelessness”, while claiming he blocked those who wanted to support her.
Mutimu said she has proof of their conversations and warned Cubana that suing her won’t stop the public confrontation.
“See this your brother, he thinks he can sue. Pascal, you know you yourself should be in jail right now. You have the audacity, after how many years of calling you to prove yourself wrong if you know that I was lying until I told you to sue me,” she said.
“You also have the audacity to give out my number even though you have my number and have never called or texted me on how to go about the paternity of the child.
“This is not Nigeria where you think you can use your money, this is Kenya, my country. I did not defame you, I have just been calling you to come and do the paternity test but you refused.
“You made me go through emotional trauma, I went homeless, I have been bullied online because of you. You also don’t allow people who wants to support me do so.
“Don’t forget I still have the messages where you insulted me, our messages from day 1, I have evidence. So, let me tell you, you’re wasting your time. I won’t stop dragging you on social media, don’t play with me. Let me tell you Pascal, you are playing with fire.
“…You sue me, you don’t sue me, I will continue to drag you until you come to Kenya to take the paternity test.”
