‘Oversabi Aunty’, Toyin Abraham’s latest movie, has become her highest-grossing movie of all time
FilmOne Studios, the entertainment company, announced the feat in an Instagram post on Monday.
Released on December 19, ‘Oversabi Aunty’ is also the second highest-grossing movie of 2025 and the fourth highest-grossing Nigerian movie of all time.
“World best steady delivering back to back oversabi box office numbers. I mean how else do you describe oversabi if it does not deliver? ‘Oversabi Aunty’ is now the highest-grossing film in Toyin Abraham Production, grossing N850m and counting,” the post reads.
“It is also one of the top two highest-grossing titles of 2025. Thank you to everyone who made this possible, the win is yours as well. Thank you for showing up and spreading the word.”

Toyin also took to Instagram to celebrate the achievement while thanking God and her fans.
“Firstly, thank you Lord. Thank you Toyintitans (love you all with everything). And to everyone supporting me, thank you from the deepest part of my heart. Honestly I don’t know if I am dreaming or awake, is this real? Dreams truly do come through. The journey has been emotional, overwhelming and beautiful,” she added.
The movies follows the life of Toun, a self-righteous church usher obsessed with “fixing” others, turns family life into a moral battlefield.
Her holy overzealousness peaks at a disastrous wedding introduction, forcing her to confront the chaos she’s created.
The film boasts a star-studded cast including Mike Ezuruonye, Efe Irene, Ngozi Ezeonu, Toyin Afolayan, Enioluwa Adeoluwa and Queen Nwokoye.
Abraham’s achievement comes a few weeks after fellow Nollywood filmmaker Funke Akindele secured a new feat with her latest film ‘Behind the Scenes’ grossing over N1 billion at the box office.
Akindele’s box office dominion has been a relentless march. In 2023, her film ‘Battle On Buka Street’ became Nollywood’s highest-grossing title with N640 million.
She then shattered the industry’s ceiling in January 2024 when ‘A Tribe Called Judah’ became the first Nollywood movie ever to hit N1 billion at the Nigerian box office.
Later that same year, ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ set a new regional record, becoming the highest-grossing film of all time in West Africa with N1.6 billion.
