Mainland Block Party has announced Nigerian rap heavyweight Olamide as the headliner for its New Year edition tagged ‘Mission 26k’.
The highly anticipated event is scheduled for January 1, 2026, at Mainland Wonderland, Lagos.

Organisers said the edition marks the “platform’s most ambitious target yet, with plans to host 26,000 attendees for a high-energy celebration of music and youth culture”.

The announcement comes on the back of the festival’s Boxing Day show ‘Wale In Wonderland’, and signals a beginning to the New Year for the BlockParty movement.

Speaking on the choice of headliner, Rebecca Adeyanju, head of products at The Plug, described Olamide as central to the platform’s mission.

“This is about setting the tone for the entire year. Olamide connects deeply with our community, and his music speaks to people across the world. Few artists embody the growth, sound, and drive of the African streets the way he does,” she said.

“He is a generational talent, and his impact is central to what the Mainland BlockParty represents. Having Baddo headline ‘Mission 26k’ is a major moment for us, and we are ready to give fans the show they have been waiting for.”
