Olaide Oyedeji, the Nollywood actress, has opened up about her unexpected journey into single motherhood.
During an episode of her podcast BBL, the film star revealed that becoming a single mother of four was not a choice but a circumstance forced upon her.
She admitted she would never have believed anyone who told her she’d have children with two different partners.
Oyedeji also dismiss any negative associations with the term single mother, stating that it is just a label and should not be considered a stigma.
“I am a single mother by force and not by choice. Yes, we are single mothers; it is just a term. It is not a stigma. If anyone had told me that I would have two baby daddies, I would have denied it,” she said.
The actress also advised single mothers, emphasising self-worth and learning from experience.
“I am a single mother of four, and I am a spec, and because I know that I am a spec, you are not going to see me here and there. Do you know why? Because I am a spec, and I want that mistake to stop there. If you did it the first time, it is a mistake,” she added.
