Shade Ladipo, the Nigerian media personality, has attributed her failed marriage to a lack of sex.
The radio host tied the knot with Jide in 2018. However, speaking with Daddy Freeze in an Instagram live session, Ladipo revealed that the lack of sexual intercourse for six months, among other issues, contributed to their failed marriage in 2020.
She explained that when she relocated with Jide to Canada, they resided in his brother’s home. During their stay with her in-laws, Ladipo stated, “we were not able to communicate, function, or find our footing.”
Ladipo said six months into their stay, she moved out of the house, leaving her ex-husband, who wanted to stay back because “he had debts”. This natural separation resulted in their official divorce in 2020.
“The biggest issue in Canada is the cold. When we landed, we were in my in-laws’ house. We could not have sex there for six months,” she said.
“The plan was to stay in the in-laws’ house for six months. We were not able to reduce the tension, communicate, or function properly. We could not even use the bathroom because there was only one, and the in-laws, along with their two-year-old child, were also at home.
“Again, the plan was to leave the brother’s house after six months and find our footing. However, by the end of the six months, he did not want to leave because he said he owed debts and was content with his job situation. For me, I needed to prioritize my own happiness first.
“He was a nice guy. We had lived together in an estate in Nigeria, and people don’t understand that with the right connection with your partner, even with kids, you find a way to be intimate.
“I entered Canada as a married woman but now I’m single as a Pringle. Covid happened, and life happened. Those close to me know. I have been officially divorced since 2020.”
