Mr Macaroni, the Nigerian skit maker, has admonished parents who let their kids replicate his adult-themed content.

The advice came on the back of a viral video of children reenacting his popular ‘Daddy Wa’ skits, sparking widespread criticism for its inappropriateness for kids.

In the video, the young content creators were dressed in adult-like attire, playing roles that mirrored Mr. Macaroni’s “sugar daddy” character, an interested lady, and his wife.

Many have called out the parents for allowing their kids to participate in such a skit, citing concerns about its impact on their well-being and development.

Reacting in an X post on Tuesday, Mr Macaroni cautioned parents and guardians to ensure kids’ talents are showcased in age-appropriate ways.

He stressed the importance of protecting young content creators’ physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.

“Dear parents and guardians, I understand the urge to want to make the most out of our uniquely talented children,” he wrote.

“I, however, strongly believe that we must apply caution while doing so. We must showcase their talents in ways appropriate for their respective ages. We must put our children first and groom them right.

“That way, we are able to develop the durability and longevity of their talent as opposed to a short viral moment. We owe them and our society that guidance.

“Children are uniquely gifted. While I believe in catching them young, I also understand that we must groom and direct them to create at a pace suitable for their respective ages. As they grow, they can be allowed more creative freedom. One step at a time.”
