Mayorkun files N1b suit against TikToker who called him ‘ritualist’
Mayorkun, the Nigerian singer, has announced his collaborative project with Davido.
The upcoming track titled ‘Batman & Robin’ was teased by the duo in an Instagram post on Thursday, where they shared a snippet of the song.
They also revealed that the single is scheduled for release in the early hours of Friday.
‘Batman & Robin’ 99’ is a track off Mayorkun’s forthcoming third studio album titled ‘Still The Mayor’.
It also marks the first collaboration between Davido and Mayorkun since the latter exited DMW in 2022 following the expiration of his contract and his subsequent signing with Sony Music’s West Africa division.
Recently, Mayorkun explained that the title of the upcoming album, ‘Still The Mayor’, is a sequel and was chosen to spark curiosity.
He also said the project is his “most challenging” project yet, citing clearance issues and label protocols as reasons for the delay.
Mayorkun gained popularity in 2016 after he released his debut single ‘Eleko’, which was produced by Puffy Tee.
He was signed to Davido’s record label DMW from 2016 to 2021. During his time at the label, Mayorkun released his debut studio album ‘The Mayor of Lagos’ in November 2018.
After exiting DMW in 2021, the singer released his second album, ‘Back In Office’, in October under the Sony Music West Africa division.
Throughout his career, Mayorkun has received numerous accolades and awards for his talent.
On the other hand, Davido rose to fame in 2012 after releasing ‘Dami Duro,’ the second single from his debut album ‘Omo Baba Olowo’.
He is also the founder of DMW, a record label established in April 2016. The music label has served as home to a plethora of music talents.
