The 2023 presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Malik Ado-Ibrahim, on Tuesday, expressed his support for the planned nationwide protest scheduled for August.
Ado-Ibrahim, who was a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today, said the protest is necessary to send a clear message to those in authority.
He, however, warned that the planned demonstrations are done in a peaceful and orderly manner.
“We must protest. We must do it respectfully, that is not endangering the lives of others,” he said.
“We must get that message to those who say it is their turn to run this country. More importantly, it is gratifying to see that we have gone back to Liberia and Sierra Leone.”
The YPP chieftain noted that the nation’s problems can be changed, urging the Nigerian government to be alive to its responsibilities to the people.
