Damilola Marshal, the daughter of Fuji singer Kwam 1, has denied rumours of a romantic relationship with singer Asake.
The speculation began after Marshal, the special assistant to the Lagos state governor on tourism, arts, and culture, shared a video on social media featuring herself and Asake enjoying music together.
She captioned the clip, “Mr Money and Mrs Money… eko dun,” a phrase highlighting Lagos’s vibrancy.
This prompted a blogger to claim the duo had made their relationship public.
In a direct rebuttal, Damilola clarified that the meeting was not a romantic outing but a first-time encounter.
She cautioned the public against believing unverified social media reports.
“Guys that was my first time meeting him, so I tooka picture. Do not believe blogs, they can do anything for traffic,” she wrote.
Damilola emphasised her professional standing, requesting to be addressed by her official title.
“And l am not a Media personality, I am a Legal practitioner, currently serving as SSA to Mr Gov… Address me well next time,” she added.
This incident is not the first time Asake has been the subject of celebrity dating rumours.
Last year, American model India Love similarly shut down speculation about a romance with the Afrobeats star after they were seen together in the United States.
