Kaduna Re-run Elections Witness Massive Turn Out Of Electorate

The re-run and by-elections slated for today; the 3rd day of February, 2024 in Kaduna state has witnessed massive turn out of the electorate across the seven Local Government Areas of the state.

According to our reporter who was on ground at some of the polling units reported that the electorate were already at their various polling units as early as 7.00 am.

Some of the areas visited by our reporter which include Kaduna South and Chikun Local Government Areas had the presence of the security personnel fully armed in case of any security breach.

As at the time of filling this report, the re-run election was peaceful, as electorate conducted themselves in a peaceful manner.

Our reporter also observed that in all the polling units visited, the accreditation exercise was smooth, adding that the Bivas’ machines were working perfectly, just as the voting exercise started as stipulated by the INEC.

Though, some of the electorate complained of voting buying by some of the parties angents, while calling for electoral reform, especially on the polling units management.

However, they opined that the closeness of parties agents to the point of voting at the polling units in most cases does not speak well for the nation’s electoral system.

The affected LGAs were re-run and by-elections took place include: Igabi, Kaduna South, Chikun, Kachia, Kudan, Kauru and Kagarko.
