‘I don’t have stage 4 cancer’ — Blessing CEO makes U-turn, reveals N13m donation

Blessing Nkiruka Okoro, the controversial influencer better known as Blessing CEO, has addressed controversy surrounding her health, arguing that she does not have ‘stage 4’ breast cancer.

The remarks comes weeks after she first revealed her diagnosis in January, when she publicly appealed for financial help to cover surgery costs.

That initial announcement, however, was met with significant public doubt, with many accusing her of fabricating the illness to raise money.

Last Thursday, Blessing explained that her early request for support was a financial precaution.

The influencer admitted to seeking funds even before knowing the full cost of her treatment.

She also revealed that her surgery had to be postponed due to the intense online backlash, and noted that additional tests and post-operative care could drive expenses higher.

Her strategy, she said, was to secure funds in advance rather than scramble for help if her condition worsened.

Facing continued criticism on Friday, Blessing defended her refusal to publicly share her cancer test results, citing medical privacy rules.

The internet personality also argued that even if she posted the documents, most of her critics would lack the medical knowledge to interpret them correctly.

In a now-viral video, Blessing CEO, who had earlier came out on social media to claim she has ‘stage 4’ cancer, described the entire episode as a “miscommunication”.

She added that she had only recently received her biopsy results and has not yet started chemotherapy.

“Maybe, it is miscommunication because that was what I was told. I am also trying to do, you know when you do biopsy… I want to like have different options and be sure of what I’m doing,” she said.

“It was a lump. Initially, they said it was not cancerous.

“After a few months, when I wanted to take it out, they said it is cancerous. I don’t know the stage that I am right now. In a few days, I will go back to my oncologist, and they will tell me the exact stage.”

Blessing also revealed that she received N13 million in public donations, not the widely circulated N100 million.
