Thierry Henry, Arsenal’s legend, shared a heartwarming moment with Victor Osimhen as the duo greeted each other in Nigerian Pidgin English on live TV.
The wholesome incident happened when Henry, working as a pundit for CBS, interviewed Osimhen following Galatasaray’s hard-fought, dramatic 7-5 aggregate victory over Juventus in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) knockout playoffs on Wednesday.
Osimhen scored one of the crucial extra-time goals that helped the Turkish club qualify for its first UCL second-round appearance in 12 years. The first leg of the encounter ended 5-2 in Galatasaray’s favour, but a limp performance gave Juventus some reprieve in the return leg. The Istanbul team conceded three goals as their opponents dragged the match into extra time. Galatasaray eventually scored two goals in the extended period to seal their qualification.
During the TV interview with Osimhen after the match, Henry greeted Osimhen in Pidgin English before the former Arsenal attacker even started asking his questions.

“Victor, this is Thierry. First and foremost, how bodi? Bodi dey?” Henry asked.
Osimhen smiled at the Frenchman’s pidgin attempt and replied, “Yeah, bodi dey fine.”
The interview then proceeded to the analysis of the match.
Henry played with Nwankwo Kanu, a former Super Eagles attacker, at Arsenal from 1999 to 2004, when the Nigerian left for West Brom.
The Frenchman has always spoken highly of Kanu and Jay-Jay Okocha, whom he played against numerous times in the English Premier League (EPL).
In 2017, Henry visited Lagos, and he was crowned the “Igwe of football”.
