United Arewa in Diversity for Development (UADD), a non-governmental, non-religious, and apolitical organisation, has applauded Senator Ali Ndume for his principled stance in advocating justice and fairness in Nigeria’s governance structure.

In a statement jointly signed by its National Convener, Jamil Baja Muhammad, and National Secretary, Aligan Abdulrahman, and made available to journalists in Zaria on Tuesday, UADD described Senator Ndume as a courageous voice at a time when many preferred silence.

The group recalled the senator’s earlier call-out of what he termed the “lopsided” nature of federal appointments under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, arguing that the imbalance violated the Federal Character principle enshrined in Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution.

“Senator Ndume stood tall and spoke truth to power—not for personal gain or ambition, but as a patriot who desires a better, fairer Nigeria for all,” the statement read.

UADD noted that recent appointments of Northerners into key federal positions indicate that the senator’s advocacy had not gone unnoticed.

They hailed the development as a sign that the president is listening to Nigerians’ demand for inclusion.

“Senator Ndume has once again proven that he is not a self-centred politician but one who stands firmly with the people,” the group stated, commending his integrity and consistent support for national unity.

The organisation also praised President Tinubu for demonstrating statesmanship by responding positively to constructive criticism and addressing concerns over previous marginalisation.

“This gesture strengthens our belief that the President is committed to building a Nigeria where every citizen, regardless of region or religion, feels represented,” UADD said.

The group urged President Tinubu to continue on this path of inclusive governance, reminding him that he is the leader of all Nigerians—not just of a section or political party.
