Sean Dyche was sacked as head coach of Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night.

The club, home to Nigerian internationals Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi, sacked Dyche after his side was held to a goalless draw by Wolverhampton Wanderers in the base team in the English Premier League (EPL).

Dyche, who replaced Ange Postecoglou in late October, lasted 114 days, more than his predecessor, who was sacked after 39 days by Evangelos Marinakis, the club owner.

The 54-year-old is the third coach sacked by Marinakis in a turbulent campaign, with Forest currently 17th and three points off the relegation places, with 12 matches remaining.

A terse club statement thanked Dyche for his over three months’ stay at the club, with the Tricky Trees choosing silence on their next line of action.

“Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that Sean Dyche has been relieved of his duties as head coach.

“We would like to thank Sean and his staff for their efforts during their time at the Club, and we wish them the best of luck for the future.

“We will be making no further comment at this time.”

Dyche managed six wins, four draws, and eight losses from 18 EPL matches in the Forest dugout, and led the club into the knockout phase of the UEFA Europa League before his shock exit.
