Five dead in Plateau State shooting incidents

On Monday morning, armed men killed four people in Nchya community, Mangu District of Mangu Local Government in Plateau State. In another incident, a security personnel also fired a stray bullet on the same day, which killed one person at the Gindiri junction of the local government area.

As per reports, gunshots were heard in the Nchya community around 10pm on Sunday. Unfortunately, tragedy struck at about 1am on Monday when four people, including Mr. and Mrs. Patrick and two children were killed.

According to a resident, Nandi Nanribet, community members used a pick up van to move the corpses to Mangu town which is 3 kilometres from Nchya.

Based on reports, the issue was an assassination and not the entire village was attacked. The attackers went to a specific house and killed the man, his wife and the 2 children.

There was a protest on the same morning which was not related to the incident. The protesters claimed that some of their youths were arrested.

The soldiers shot in the air to disperse the protesters, and that is when a stray bullet hit one of the protesters and he died.
