Enugu State bans unauthorised tinted glass vehicles

To combat criminals in Enugu State, the government has prohibited the unauthorised use of cars with tinted windows.

According to a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, the ban will take effect four weeks from the notice and enforcement will commence on September 4.

This is to allow owners of cars with tinted windows without police permits, who could not obtain the permit before the suspension on June 7,2021, enough time to remove or replace them if they are factory fitted and in compliance with the law.

The Secretary to the State Government emphasised that the ban was put in place to increase the safety and security of Enugu State residents.

He also Stated that any cars that failed to comply with the ban will be impounded and owners will have to pay a fine before they can get their vehicles back.
