The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has officially opened applications for a wide range of job vacancies across its institutions, inviting qualified professionals from member states to apply.
Announcing the exercise on its official website, ECOWAS said the recruitment covers roles in critical sectors, including administration, finance, trade, infrastructure, health, telecommunications, legal affairs, and security.
The regional body is seeking “qualified and capable candidates” for both technical and administrative positions, ranging from office assistants and programme aides to accountants, legal officers, political advisers, and senior roles such as directors and principal officers.
Vacancies are spread across several locations, with a significant number based in Abuja, Nigeria, and others in Dakar (Senegal), Conakry (Guinea), Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), and Monrovia (Liberia).
Applicants are required to submit a completed application form, a curriculum vitae, and a cover letter via email. Applications opened on April 1, 2026, and will close on Thursday, April 30, 2026.
ECOWAS has also set age limits for candidates: 35 years for general service roles, 45 years for professional positions, and 50 years for director-level roles. Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
Highlighting its core focus areas, the organisation noted that successful candidates will contribute to initiatives in macroeconomic policy, agriculture, energy, education, political affairs, and anti-money laundering efforts.
ECOWAS emphasised that the recruitment process is entirely free of charge, requiring no payments or bank details from applicants, and advised prospective candidates to regularly check the official website for detailed information on available roles and application procedures.
