Nollywood actress Doris Ogala was reportedly arrested on Saturday — amid a series of allegations she made against Chris Okafor, founder of Grace Nation Ministry.
The incident unfolded during a live-streamed interview, where the host interrupted to ask, “The police are in your house?”
Ogala confirmed, “Yes, the police are in my house”.
The purported arrest caps a week of escalating public drama that began when a video of Okafor’s engagement to another woman circulated online.
In response, Ogala came forward with claims that she had been in a romantic relationship with the clergyman since 2017.
The actress alleged that she left her previous marriage at Okafor’s insistence and accused the cleric of betraying her after years of intimacy and assurances of marriage.
She also claimed the situation had taken a toll on her mental and emotional health.
The actress disclosed that she has been grappling with suicidal thoughts. She later issued an ultimatum asking Okafor to either marry her or financially “settle” her by purchasing a house.
Despite the controversy, photos from Okafor’s white wedding and traditional marriage ceremonies surfaced online last Wednesday.
This prompted Ogala to demand N1 billion in damages over breach of promise from Okafor.
On Friday, the film star shared a now-deleted post that showed a man who appeared to be Okafor in a private setting. In the photo, the man appeared topless and with a towel round his waist in a bedroom.
“This is his bedroom. After making love. Full video dropping soon,” she captioned the post.
“You said I’m lying; okay. You shared my naked body. Everyone will watch yours. This video is from a girl he promised marriage. She sent it to me.”
Ogala, who had been active on Instagram in recent weeks, has not posted anything since her reported arrest.
Nigerian comedian Dee One also confirmed Ogala’s arrest on social media, writing: “I tried to warn her, the allegations did not add up. Now she will have to defend her story in court. Everywhere good my people.”
