South African singer Tyla has added another prestigious accolade to her collection, winning the award for ‘Outstanding International Song’ at the 2026 NAACP Image Awards.
The annual ceremony, hosted by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), celebrates exceptional achievements by artistes of colour across film, television, music, and literature.
Tyla’s victory sees her surpass a formidable lineup of Nigerian music stars who were also nominated in the category.
Burna Boy was nominated for his track ‘Love,’ Davido for ‘With You’ — his collaboration with Omah Lay — and Tiwa Savage for ‘You4Me.’
The category also featured Jamaican artiste Skip Marley for his song ‘In Our Sight.’
Tyla’s latest achievement comes on the heels of another major international win.
A few weeks ago, she claimed the ‘Best African Music Performance’ award at the 2026 Grammy Awards, once again edging out Nigerian heavyweights.
She was nominated in that category alongside Wizkid & Ayra Starr, as well as Ugandan artiste Eddy Kenzo and Mehran Matin for ‘Hope & Love.’
The continued success builds on her breakthrough in 2024, when she defeated the same cohort of Nigerian artistes to secure her very first Grammy award.
