Davido has called out singer Tosin Bee, mistakenly claiming he is the son of the lawyer representing Sophia Momodu in the custody battle over their daughter Imade.
The drama unfolded shortly after the Afrobeats star provided insight into what transpired between him and Sophia’s legal counsel during a recent court hearing.
On Friday, Davido announced he was withdrawing the custody case, clarifying that his intention was never to seek sole custody of Imade, but rather to establish a joint parenting arrangement.
The legal dispute began in 2024 when Davido filed a motion at the Lagos high court, requesting “unrestricted access” to his daughter. In response, Sophia maintained that she had never denied Davido access to Imade.
In his Friday statement, Davido addressed the public narrative surrounding the case. Although confident in his legal position, he revealed that the proceedings took an emotional toll when the opposing counsel, in his words, resorted to a “low blow”.
“I’ve decided to drop the case because when I was spanking that lawyer in the courtroom… she would get so frustrated… until she brought out her last card — my deceased son. That’s a no no! Lowest blow!” he wrote.
In a follow-up post, Davido shared multiple photos of Tosin Bee, alleging he was the lawyer’s son. He also aimed at the lawyer’s professional competence.
“And she has a son… Tosin you will live long amen with the rubbish u Dey sing … so ur son nah musician Bella Chukwu u know even get sense .. make we help am. Useless pole,” he wrote.
“I disgraced you in the courtroom. I was teaching you your work you couldn’t even take it and then went on to mention My Son.
“Like I said in the courtroom I pray you never go through what me and my wife have gone through ever .. and u were still smiling smirking .. u are a wicked human being. Ur the worst lawyer ever I beat you in court! You are not learned.
Tosin Bee responded to the accusations, clarifying that he has no connection to the lawyer involved in the case. He revealed that his mother passed away eight years ago, describing the situation as a case of mistaken identity.
“Hello Mr David,I don’t know anything about the post you made, as a matter of fact, my mum went to be with the Lord 8 years ago. I guess this is a case of mistaken identity,” he wrote on Instagram.
“So sorry you had to deal with this…but my prayers are with you. Love you brother.”
