Blaqbonez, the Nigerian rapper, has revealed his willingness to the concept of an open marriage.
The artiste, born Emeka Akumefule, spoke during a recent appearance on the In My Opinion podcast.
Explaining his unconventional perspective, Blaqbonez argued that sexual frequency in a marriage naturally declines over time.
He framed an open arrangement as a practical solution to this, especially given the demands of his career.
“I do not mind having an open marriage. Most married couples, you do not keep having same amount of sex you were having at the beginning,” he said.
“It will reduce. If somebody is satisfying her sexually while I am hustling, touring, I am not available to be getting intimate with her all the time.
“That is okay. There is more to marriage than sex.”
Blaqbonez expressed confidence that this connection would be difficult for an outside party to replicate, thereby safeguarding the marriage.
“I do not mind that you are sleeping with someone else provided you are dedicated to me. It will be difficult for a random person to just come and match up with what I have put in there,” he said.
“Nobody is just going to get her sexually and also mentally addicted to them. They probably can’t make her laugh the way I do. If I am even going to get married, I need two rooms. Me and my wife will only meet when we want to have intimacy.”
