Chris Imumolen, presidential candidate of the Accord Party in the 2023 elections, has donated a library to Lugbe community in the federal capital territory (FCT), Abuja.

The educationist described the project as his contribution towards national development through knowledge and learning.

According to him, the library, which bears his name, is designed to give underserved communities access to quality books and educational resources.

“This library is more than books and shelves, it is a seed of transformation planted in the hearts of our nation,” Imumolen said at the inauguration.

He stressed that no country can rise above the quality of education and information available to its citizens, adding that libraries remain vital in democratising knowledge and reducing inequality.

The facility is equipped with a sports complex, an incubation room, a restaurant, and living quarters for visitors, academics, and researchers.

It also provides access to more than one million e-books, databases, and digital literacy programmes.

Dignitaries at the event included Danladi Kifasi, former head of service of the federation; Helen Afeng, deputy vice-chancellor of Kaduna State University; Tunji Asaolu, secretary-general of the United World Congress of Diplomats; and Dorgen Damisah, chief executive of Medirest Hospital, Asokoro.
