A lady claiming to be a waitress has called out May D, the Nigerian singer, over an alleged debt of ₦11,000.

May D, in turn, has replied to her, declaring that he is “broke” and now living on a “salary”.

In a post via X on Sunday, the lady alleged that May D and his friends dined at her hotel in January.

She alleged that they failed to settle their bill of ₦56,000.

The waitress claimed May D’s group partied late and left without settling the bill until the next day.

She said she had to contact May D to pay his bill because she had to balance the hotel’s account.

The waitress alleged that the conversation turned sour, with May D giving an “offensive response”.

She claimed he only paid ₦45,000, leaving an outstanding balance of ₦11,000.

The waitress shared a picture of the receipts and WhatsApp messages with May D to substantiate her claims.

She also insisted she is not trying to chase clout with the posts, but wants the outstanding balance paid.

“So about two months ago Mr MayD and friends came to the hotel where I work to lodge,” she said.

“And I served them food and drinks, it was on Friday, 12 of Jan 2024.

“They all went to the club and didn’t come back that same night.

“Fast forward to the next day, our hotel rule is to do our sales account before 10 am.

“So I got his contact from his friend who was in the hotel to reach out to him so I could get the money.

“His response was offensive. I had to cover up the balance of ₦11k with my salary at the end of the month.”

The accusation generated several reactions on social media.

In response, May D took to his X page to say he is “broke”.

He also promised to pay the debt after he received his “salary”.

“You people should leave me alone. I am broke,” his response reads.

“She should send her account. I will pay her at the end of the month when I collect my salary from my Oga. 11k Abi,” he wrote.

May D is known for hit tracks such as ‘Ile Ijo’ and ‘Ibadi’.

In 2020, the 37-year-old singer joined DMW, Davido’s record label.

Two years later, May D revealed that he had parted ways with Davido.

He also unveiled Confam Records, his record label.
