‘They Raped Me,’ Rivers State University Students Protest Robbery Attacks

A now-trending video, showing female students of Rivers State University protesting an alleged robbery attack and rape, has emerged online.

The video, shared on TikTok on Thursday, saw female students protesting outside the university gate, carrying placards with inscriptions that claimed that some female students were attacked.

“They robbed us in our rooms, they raped and fingered us,” one of the placards read.

Another placard bore the inscription, “Justice For Girls. No be to dey that gate dey collect N1000 from who wears a short skirt.”

A young lady, in one of the videos circulating online, claimed to have been raped during the attack that took place on Wednesday night.

“Look at me now, they raped me. I was a virgin last night, this morning I’m no longer a virgin,” one of the protesters said.
