Chris Brown, the American singer, and Afrobeats superstar Wizkid have joined forces for a new song titled ‘Man on a Mission’.
The song, which was released in the early hours of Friday, is a title from the singer’s self-titled album ‘Brown (The Chocolate Edition)‘. The expanded project features guest appearances from Wizkid, Tyga, and Ty Dolla $ign.
In ‘Man on a Mission’, the two artistes explore the complexities of modern romance, weaving together themes of ambition, urgency, and emotional connection.
The track offers listeners a glimpse into the mindset of successful men navigating relationships while managing demanding careers.
Brown opens the song with a candid plea for understanding, acknowledging the tension between professional obligations and romantic commitment.
“It’s been plenty of times/ I done looked in your eyes/ I can tell what you like, baby/ I got no complaints/ I’ma stay in my lane,” he sings.
“I’m just a man on a mission, babe/ I’ma tryna keep you goin’ every day/ I’m just a man on a mission, babe/ Mission, babe, oh yeah/ I’m just a man on a mission, babe (Mission, babe)/ No one ever gonna stop me/ You the play, I’m on a mission, babe Mission, babe, oh yeah.”
Wizkid enters with a complementary verse, emphasising the depth and longevity of the connection. The Afrobeats star echoes Brown’s call for honest communication while acknowledging the weight of difficult decisions in relationships.
“Baby, make you talk to me, now we doin’ this for life (Yeah, yeah)/ Been my ride-or-die, I request it for the night/ Say somethin’, I don’t read between the lines/ I know it’s hard to make decisions,” he sings.
“Let’s roll the dice/ Don’t think it twice/ Sweet obsession, must be nice/ Don’t get it twisted, I can’t deny/ I want your body every day and every night.”
