A luxury bus powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) and operated by a transport company, was severely damaged following a sudden explosion at the Lagos Garage Terminus in Mando area of Kaduna State.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred without warning, leaving the vehicle badly wrecked and debris scattered across the busy transport hub.
The loud blast drew immediate attention from commuters, traders, and nearby residents, prompting a swift response from emergency services.
Despite the scale of destruction, no casualties have been reported as of the time of filing this report, a development many have described as remarkable given the circumstances.
Officials are yet to confirm the exact cause of the explosion, but preliminary concerns have been raised regarding the safety of CNG-powered vehicles, particularly in Nigeria’s public transportation sector.
Regulatory authorities and safety agencies are expected to launch a full investigation into the incident, focusing on maintenance standards, fuel system integrity, and compliance with safety protocols.
