Frank Onyeka has joined Coventry City on loan from Brentford FC.

The Championship side announced the 28-year-old midfielder’s arrival on Monday.

The move away from the English Premier League (EPL) will see him spend the remainder of the season in the country’s second division.

The deal includes an obligation to buy should Coventry achieve promotion to the EPL this season.

Onyeka pledged to give his best to ensure the Sky Blues return to the EPL for the first time in twenty five years.

“I’m a strong midfielder, I’m a winner and I always want to fight for my teammates,” the Super Eagles midfielder said.

“My aim is to give 100 per cent, bring my experience and help the team get promoted to the Premier League and bring glory to the city again.

“I’m very excited to get going and I’m ready to give my all for Coventry.”

Coventry are currently top of the Championship with 58 points, same as second-placed Middleborough.

The club came close to returning to the EPL in 2023 but lost to Luton Town on penalties in the promotion play-off final.
