I’ll return to Ned if it’ll secure my brother’s release from prison, says Regina Daniels

Regina Daniels has broken down in tears while alleging that her husband Ned Nwoko is using her brother’s imprisonment to force her return to an “abusive relationship”.

In a series of emotional posts on Instagram in the early hours of Friday, a visibly distressed Daniels expressed her desperation and confusion over the ongoing situation.

She revealed that her primary focus is securing the release of her brother Sammy Ojeagwu from detention, an ordeal she said is taking a severe toll on her mental state.

“Guys, I am trying. I tried. I feel like I am going crazy. I am losing my mind. I am crying in front of everybody. It is not even making sense. What am I begging for, I do not know,” she said.

“It is not easy. Every time I wake up, I see one thing from my brothers online. Today I hear good news, tomorrow I hear another thing. What is the problem? But I am trying.

“I will go back.”

In another post, Regina defended her previous silence on the alleged abuse, stating she intentionally did not publicise her suffering.

“It is okay to laugh. It is really okay to laugh. What were you guys expecting me to show off? That I was being beaten, that I was sad?” she added.

She declared she would return to her husband if it meant her brother would be freed from detention.

“I give up! What was my brother’s offense? Fighting for his baby sister because his in-law would always beat her up? I actually accorded the Nigerian police some respect, but shame on you all !!! It’s obvious the highest bidder always wins,” she wrote.

“Now I’m crippled! I will return if that’s the only way, do whatever he says, get injected to be like a zombie, get locked up and raped in the house. Only then will my brother return.

“Because by law, there is no tangible case against Sammywest! Ned Nwoko is bigger than the whole of Nigeria; that’s what this means. We lost or rather, I lost!”

The crisis, which has been unfolding publicly since October, began when a viral video showed Daniels in tears, accusing Nwoko of domestic violence. The senator responded by alleging his wife was struggling with drug and alcohol addiction.

The conflict escalated dramatically on November 3 when Daniels accused Nwoko of orchestrating the arrest of her brothers.

The case has drawn concern from within the industry. Fellow actress Mercy Johnson previously called for Sammy’s release, questioning the legality of his arrest.

The family on Thursday also alleged a plot to remand Sammy to a correctional facility in Keffi.
