The police commands in Lagos and Abuja have remained silent, fuelling growing tension over the whereabouts of Sammy Ojeagwu, the elder brother of actress Regina Daniels.
Regina and her husband Ned Nwoko have been in the public eye over the crisis in their marriage.
The dispute began in October when a viral video showed Daniels in tears, accusing Nwoko of domestic violence.
The senator countered by alleging his wife was battling drug and alcohol addiction.
The situation intensified on November 3 when Regina accused Nwoko of orchestrating the arrest of her brothers.
“Someone pls help me! I feel Like I’m losing my mind. I never thought I would do this but My big brother and big sister has been arrested, My baby sister might be arrested soon as well until I return and according to him, return to rehab,” she said.
Regina also alleged that Nwoko was using their detention to coerce her into returning to a rehabilitation facility.
The development has sparked tension on social media.
Joining the fray, Mercy Johnson called for the release of Sammy and also questioned the circumstances of his arrest.
The Nollywood star described the situation as a “pretended justice,” lamenting that “he had been held for two days without access to his family”.
She further alleged that Sammy was flown from Lagos to Abuja and was being taken directly to court from the airport, bypassing standard procedures.
