Odumodublvck, the Nigerian rapper, has revealed why he featured Wizkid and Davido on his debut album despite their well-publicised feud.

The 23-track project, released on October 6, includes Wizkid on the song ‘Big Time’ and Davido alongside Seun Kuti on ‘Grooving’.

Featuring the two rival superstars on the same album sparked reactions from fans, given the long-standing tension between them.

The rift between the duo, which had lingered for years, reignited in October 2024 after Wizkid taunted Ademola Adeleke, Davido’s uncle and governor of Osun state.

In an interview on ATTW Space, Odumodublvck explained that his move was a deliberate act of peacemaking, not an attempt to take sides in a conflict whose origins he does not know.

He revealed a strategic intention behind the tracklisting, placing the artistes on consecutive songs.

“Those guys, Davido and Wizkid, are men. They are real men. At the end of the day, when we all get to the gates of heaven, whether Davido and Wizkid are inside or not, if I’m standing at the entrance asking why I wasn’t allowed in, and it’s because I supported either Wizkid or Davido, that wouldn’t make any sense,” he said.

“Did I know the foundation of their disagreement? Or can I tell if they’ll reconcile tomorrow?

“God said, ‘Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall inherit the kingdom of God.’

“Now, I put them on tracks five and six. By God’s grace, for my own agenda, I hope that one day both of them will find it in their hearts to be friends again. That’s what it’s about.”

The ‘Declan Rice’ hitmaker also disclosed that neither music icon charged him for their contributions.

“Both of them know they’re on my album, but they are there by the grace of God and out of respect for my hustle, because I didn’t pay them, not a dime,” he added.

“The song I featured Wizkid on wasn’t originally mine, he gave it to me. I didn’t record it and send it to him; he gifted it to me.”
