An aspirant for the Osun State House of Assembly, Osundokun Osundare, has formally declared his intention to contest the Oriade State Constituency seat under the Peoples Democratic Party.

Osundare, a native of Ijeda-Ijesa in Oriade Local Government, made the declaration on Monday, September 22, 2025.

He told supporters that his ambition was not about personal gain but tied to the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

According to him, Adeleke’s performance in education, infrastructure, welfare, and people-centred policies has made a second term imperative.

He said, “My ambition is dedicated to the re-election of our Governor. His victory is our collective victory, and without him, Oriade’s progress will remain limited.”

The PDP hopeful noted that he had consulted widely across towns and villages in Oriade, engaging elders, youths, artisans, traders, and political stakeholders.

Osundare promised to be a vocal representative in the House, pledging to sponsor bills on youth empowerment, women’s inclusion, education, healthcare, and infrastructure.

He added, “I will be accountable, accessible, and loyal to your cause. I will not be a benchwarmer.”

Osundare called on party members and residents to work in unity for Adeleke’s re-election, which he described as “non-negotiable.”
