The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has hailed a Federal High Court ruling that restrained former Senate President David Mark, ex-Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola, and others from parading themselves as national executive members of the party.
The judgement, the party said, vindicated its long-standing stance on the legitimacy of its leadership and marked a turning point in efforts to reclaim what it described as the ADC’s “authentic glory.”
In a statement issued by its Director of Media and Public Affairs, Dr Christopher O. Okechukwu, the ADC extended an open invitation to prominent politicians and Nigerians across all walks of life to join the party’s fold.
“We welcome this development and reaffirm our commitment to reclaiming and restoring the party to its authentic glory,” Okechukwu said.
The party specifically called on David Mark, Rauf Aregbesola, Nasir El-Rufai, Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi and Rotimi Amaechi, among others, to align with what it described as the legitimate leadership of Hon. Nafiu Bala as national chairman.
The ADC pledged to make membership registration seamless and accessible nationwide. It said membership cards and registers would soon be distributed across all states to accommodate new entrants.
“Our party is built on inclusivity, transparency and accountability,” Okechukwu added. “We are a dynamic and forward-thinking political party committed to driving positive change in Nigeria.”
The party emphasised that Nigeria’s progress required collective effort and urged political coalitions to put aside differences for the sake of national development.
“Together, we can build a brighter future for our nation,” Okechukwu said.
The ADC stressed that its doors remain open to all Nigerians who share its vision of a more transparent, accountable and people-driven political culture.
