The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won all 21 chairmanship and 225 councillorship seats in Kebbi state.

On Saturday, the Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission (KESIEC) conducted elections in all the LGAs in the state.

Announcing the results in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital, on Sunday, Aliyu Muhammad-Mera, the KESIEC chairman, said the APC won all the seats.

Muhammed-Mera said 17 political parties participated in the election, including the Labour Party (LP), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Boot Party (BP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), and Accord Party (AP).

He said the INEC ratified and adopted the chairmanship and councillorship results announced by returning officers.

Recently, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi announced that it has withdrawn from participating in the LGA elections.

The party alleged that the KESIEC chairman and the electoral commissioners are card-carrying members of the APC.

The PDP noted that it did not have confidence in the leadership of the state’s electoral commission to conduct a free and fair election.
