2Baba, the iconic singer, has claimed that Burna Boy is ahead of Davido and Wizkid globally.
In an interview on MIC ON podcastwith Seun Okinbaloye, the “African Queen” hitmaker said he admires the work of all three artistes but said Burna Boy is the one “at the top of the game” at the moment.
He explained that his assessment was based on global influence and his personal understanding of the industry, rather than on financial success, style, appeal, or fan base.
He added that Burna Boy is “currently at the top of the chain not just in Nigeria or Africa, but globally,” while noting that Davido and Wizkid are also performing impressively.
“I have my favourite songs from all of them. But if I must be put on the spot, I think Burna Boy is at the top of the game right now,” he said.
“As I said earlier, different people have different styles, so it’s not about one person being better than the other. Everyone’s music is different, and people also have different tastes in what they enjoy.
“I’m speaking from a general perspective here. I don’t know anything about their bank accounts or have information about their personal success, so I can’t speak on that.
“However, based on common sense and my understanding of the music world, I think Burna Boy is currently at the top of the chain not just in Nigeria or Africa, but globally. That said, everyone in the industry is doing fantastically well.”
The debate over who is the best among the Big Three has long been controversial, with some fans and colleagues supporting it while others dismiss it as unnecessary.
In September 2025, Tiwa Savage said that Afrobeats goes beyond the Big Three and that the concept downplays the achievements of other successful artists in the industry.
